Ditch the magazines

LOVE this photo...

What good do these magazines really do? Nada. I'm sure you can relate to reading one and then feeling horrible about the way you look and making new resolutions to diet/exercise/buy something. These magazines are so far from reality its crazy. Best bet: Stop reading them. Take your confidence back, don't be a victim to the people that just want your money. I can honestly say I haven't read one of these since Sept 2007. Now when I do see images, commercials etc of photo shopped phoniness (because heaven knows you can't escape them!) I am more able to stay in touch with reality and recognize that these images are NOT reality, that they don't fit my definition of beauty and that fashion, fakeness and glamour is not what I want in my life. I want something SO much more! Thinness does not equal happiness. Health does- along with other things. But NOT thinness, comparison, obsession or self destruction. And I know my worth is so much more than this outer shell that my spirit is living in. Which is why its important to take care of this outer shell- so my spirit can thrive! Anywho next time you go to the doctors skip the beauty magazine and read a different one, or sit there and do nothing (yay!) or bring a book with you. You'll feel so much better if you do! Lets focus on being our best selves, imperfections, genetics, quirks and all! Love what makes you YOU. REDEFINE BEAUTY.

Appearances can be so deceiving, such a poor measure of a person. Admonished the Savior, “Judge not according to the appearance.”  John 7:24 -President Monson "Charity Never Faileth"
