Simplify Christmas, Celebrate Christ

I can remember at times during Christmas feeling stressed out, shopping frantically and trying to get everything done I needed to. What is the point? If I am not feeling the spirit of CHRIST than what is the point?...This year I have no choice. With preparing for our baby to come and me not working anymore Mike and I have no choice but to go easy on the gifts, decorations, candy making and all those things I would just love to go crazy with.

On Sunday we went to the first presidency Christmas devotional. There is something about being in the same room as the prophet and apostles that just makes me want to be the best person I can absolutely be. It makes me ask myself "Am I prepared to be face to face with God?" I know those men are called of God and are his mouth piece on earth today. I just love them and am grateful for their guidance.

I've determined to Simplify Christmas this year and Celebrate Christ. I want to focus on Gifts I can give to Christ this year.

"What gifts would the Lord have me give to him or to others at this precious season of the year?" -President Monson

"Give him the gift of doing for others what he would do for them" -Elder Erying

"The greatest gift we can offer is to point those we love and serve toward him, the only source of Eternal Life" -Elder Erying

(2011 Christmas Devotional)

After Christmas comes and goes will it be the presents, ribbons, and "fluff" that we remember? Or will it be the time spent with those we love, the words of kindness, the feeling of love and overall the spirit of Christ.

St Matthew 25: 31-46
